The story
Apego is a contemporary fine dining restaurant at Rua de Santa Catarina 1198 in Porto, listed as Recommended by the Michelin Guide in 2026. Chef Aurora Goy has led it for eight years, drawing on Portuguese, Brazilian, Mozambican and French references.
Goy was born in Gaillac, France, to a French father and a Portuguese mother. She started out at Guy Savoy and L'Auberge du 15, then worked at Belcanto and Tavares Rico before settling in Porto. Her kitchen team is exclusively female, and the seasonal cooking follows what the land provides. The We're Smart Green Guide gave Apego 2 Radishes in 2026.
Friday and Saturday are tasting menus only. Apego runs five moments for 70€, while the freer Desapego runs seven for 90€, with wine pairings at 50€ and 60€. From Tuesday to Thursday, guests choose à la carte or a six-moment menu at 80€. Listed dishes include monkfish with turnip and black radish, porco malhado from Talho das Manas with peanut and coriander, and coscorões with heather honey and loquat.
The name means attachment, the bond between people and the things they love. Service is meant to feel close and unhurried, and the dining room team greets guests with humor and care. The restaurant describes the atmosphere as intimate and family-like, built for lingering at the table.
