The story
La Brasserie Moderne is a French brasserie at Królewska 11 in Warsaw, inside the Sofitel Warsaw Victoria hotel. Gault&Millau gave it a score of 13 in 2026, and its modern French menu is the reason to book a table.
The kitchen is run by an experienced chef who knows the French repertoire well and reinterprets it in his own style. The menu changes with the seasons and relies on high-quality produce. Cheeses, wines and champagnes come straight from France.
Steak tartare comes with a confit egg yolk and pickled mushrooms. Confit goose gizzards are served with pesto, and sea perch arrives with beurre blanc and fennel dill. Vegetarian and vegan guests have several choices. For dessert, the crème brûlée with fresh fruit is a classic done well.
The dining room is classic and elegant, in one of Warsaw's oldest hotels near the Saxon Garden, Piłsudski Square and the Old Town. The hotel also offers a Chef's Table, a private dinner set in the hotel kitchen where the Executive Chef talks guests through his inspirations and each dish.
