The story
Kontakt is a contemporary bistro and wine bar at Sandomierska 13 in Warsaw's Mokotów district, and the Michelin Guide gave it a Bib Gourmand in 2026 for good quality, good value cooking. It works as both a dining room and a wine shop, so bottles from the list can also be taken home.
The menu changes with the seasons and is designed for sharing. The kitchen reinterprets Polish and international classics, with fish, seafood, meat and vegetarian dishes on the card. Two examples are beef tongue with cranberries and horseradish, and a curry carrot served with halva.
The list holds over 400 wines and champagnes from niche producers, with a focus on organic, biodynamic and natural bottles. Master Sommelier Piotrek Pietras leads the wine team. The Terroirists Club usually meets on Thursdays for tastings led by him or by visiting producers.
Kontakt spreads across two floors and four spaces: the bistro, a chef's table, the wine bar and the cobalt room. Original brickwork and old ceiling beams remain, and parts of the walls are painted a vivid cobalt blue. Gault&Millau scored the interior and atmosphere 11 in 2026.
