The story
Amici is an Italian restaurant at Rondo Daszyńskiego 4 in Warsaw, rated 12.5 by Gault&Millau in 2026. Chef Dmytro Kalinichenko runs the kitchen, setting classic dishes beside his own modern ones.
Kalinichenko is described as a perfectionist who watches every detail, from how a plate looks to how it tastes. He pairs traditional Italian flavours with modern technique and looks for fresh, local ingredients. The menu follows the seasons.
The cold starters show the range. Vitello tonnato arrives with pickled beetroot, capers and rocket, and burrata is served with anchovies, roasted cherry tomatoes and dill oil. Salmon carpaccio is scorched with hay and topped with red caviar and a tapioca chip. The beef tartare sits on a butter bun with lardo and chive pesto. Beyond the starters, the Italian kitchen turns to pinsa romana, pasta, risotto and desserts.
The restaurant spreads over two levels with large windows and plenty of daylight. Furniture is modern and the decor minimal. A children's corner with wooden eco toys makes Sunday lunch easy for families.
The wine list earned a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2024. A separate drink bar menu covers cocktails.
