The story
Restauracja Steampunk occupies the penultimate floor of the historic Wodna Wieża at Ul. Kilińskiego 5 in Pszczyna, where the kitchen works with seasonal European fine dining. Gault&Millau awarded it 15 points in 2026, and Wine Spectator listed it with an Award of Excellence in 2025.
Head chef Ziemowit Owczarz builds a seasonal menu on European tradition, then presents it in a modern and often surprising form. The cooking leans on simple, good-quality ingredients and aims to bring out their natural flavour. Guests can choose between two tasting menus or an à la carte selection, and the sommelier pairs wines course by course, often from small, family-owned vineyards.
Reviewers single out a beef tatar, pierogi filled with smoked twaróg, and duck breast served with Parisian gnocchi, red cabbage and demi-glace. The tatar comes in a version built on beef, another on "chicken" and one on mushroom. The menu changes with the season, so the exact lineup on any given evening may differ.
The dining rooms sit inside an old water tower, decorated with metal gears, spiral lamps, screws and pumps that echo nineteenth-century machinery. The Main Hall on level 8 suits parties of two, four or six in an intimate setting. The Chef's Table on level 7, set in the Private Room, seats six to ten guests and serves tasting menus only.
