The story
Biały Królik is a restaurant in Gdynia, Poland, serving modern Polish cuisine at ul. Folwarczna 2, 81-547 Gdynia, inside the Hotel Quadrille. Gault&Millau gave it 13 points in 2026, placing it among the city's most closely watched tables.
The kitchen works under chef Marcin Popielarz, who builds his menus on Polish tradition. Produce comes from Kashubia, the Żuławy marshes and the Mierzeja spit. Modern techniques and a creative plating style give familiar ingredients a sharper outline. The seasonal tasting menu and the à la carte card both include dishes inspired by the chef's childhood.
Two dishes stand out in the source material. Sea perch arrives with a butter sauce, water rocket and artichoke. The smardz ice cream, made from morels, is served with peas and black chanterelles. The restaurant has also hosted seven-course tasting dinners, including a film-themed evening in April 2024 where each course referenced a movie shown at a festival.
The dining room occupies a palace dating from the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Black and white floors, surreal details and a nod to Alice in Wonderland give the room a playful, theatrical character. The atmosphere stays intimate, and the restaurant welcomes guests aged 16 and over.
