The story
Hofstede Meerzigt sits at Zonnenberg 10 in Zoetermeer, where the French kitchen works with international accents inside a 1640 farmhouse on the edge of the Green Heart. Gault&Millau awarded the restaurant 15 points in 2026.
Chef Alain Adriaanse leads the kitchen with a daily-fresh, seasonal approach, using local and organic ingredients wherever possible. The base is French, with the occasional Asian or international twist. Guests choose a Menu van de Chef of three to five courses, and the selection changes regularly. Master sommelier Sermad Wartan pairs each course with wine, drawing on a list that is strong on international bottles.
Reviewers have singled out scallops sautéed over fregola with braised leek and a foamy beurre blanc. Veal loin, served two ways with pan-fried and braised cuts, has also drawn attention, along with cod partnered with mushrooms, truffle and potato foam. Dessert has leaned fresh, with a mango and coconut creation that balances sweetness with brightness.
The 1640 farmstead keeps its original architecture, with exposed wooden beams, light furnishings and tables dressed in white linen. A terrace offers outdoor seating. For a closer view of the cooking, the Chef's Table places two to four guests in the kitchen for a six-course Menu van de Chef at €220 per person, with aperitif, paired wines, water and coffee or tea included. Chef's Table bookings are made on request by email or phone.
