The story
De Beejekurf in Venray cooks French-based modern French cuisine at Paterslaan 15, and Gault&Millau awarded it a score of 13 for 2026. Chef-owner Mathijs Jacobs runs the kitchen, while hostess and sommelier Hanneke Verstappen-Jacobs leads the dining room.
Mathijs Jacobs builds his menus on classic French technique and adds his own creative touches. The surprise tasting menu moves through three to eight courses. Recent reviewers praised a veal fillet served with anchovy and eel mashed potatoes, and a calamansi panna cotta to finish. A vegetarian menu is also available.
Hanneke Verstappen-Jacobs pours a wine pairing for each course, or guests can choose from a moderately sized list that ranges from familiar names to smaller producers. The dining room uses linen-dressed tables and wood-paneled walls. Sunday lunch runs continuously from 13.00, and the three-course surprise menu is priced at €49.50.
