The story
Vandeijck is a French and International restaurant at Dorpsplein 4 in Riethoven, Netherlands, where Gault&Millau awarded a score of 14 in 2026. The restaurant occupies a monumental Kempen farmhouse opposite the Sint-Willibrordus Church.
Gardy Joordens leads the kitchen, which is visible from the dining room as soon as you walk in. He trained classically but cooks with an eye on techniques and ingredients from abroad. Reviewers have noted Japanese touches such as chawanmushi, set against Brabant produce and a regional sense of place.
The dinner menu runs from five to ten courses, with the longer formats including specialty dishes. Recent courses have included hamachi ceviche with pickled new potatoes, and braised calf cheek served with Asian pear and a jalapeño sauce. Txogitxu beef is dry-aged in the restaurant's own cabinet and can be ordered as a separate course. Hostess and sommelier Renée Schellekens guides the wine pairings, and Lekker500 has listed Vandeijck in its Top 500 for 2026.
