The story
Latour serves modern French cooking at Koningin Astrid Boulevard 5 in Noordwijk-Binnen, and it holds one Michelin star (2026). The restaurant sits inside Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin, with views of the dunes and the North Sea.
Kenny Friederichs has led the kitchen as chef de cuisine since August 2024, after Marcel van Lier retired. Friederichs has worked at Latour for more than five years. His cooking is light and refined, drawing on the salinity of the sea and on seasonal produce from trusted suppliers. The restaurant also offers a vegetable and fruit menu for vegetarian guests.
Reviewers have praised thinly sliced pencil squid with a paprika and aji amarillo sauce, and rose-roasted Kamper lamb with slow-cooked bacon and eggplant. Yellow beetroot with aji amarillo and tarragon has also appeared on the menu. The Dutch cheese trolley comes with Waldorf salad, chutney and brioche. Desserts have included rhubarb sweet-and-sour with tarragon ice cream.
The dining room is classically decorated, with thick carpeting, crystal chandeliers and sea views. Stan Kerckhoffs, restaurant manager, head sommelier and SVH Master Host, leads the front of house and has been with Latour since 2003. Guests are expected to dress up. The wine list mixes well-known labels with bottles from small growers, and an alcohol-free cocktail based on spiced iced tea is also offered.
