The story
Grain Street is a casual Mediterranean restaurant at 167 Merchants Street, Valletta, Malta, and it earned the Michelin Bib Gourmand (2026) for good cooking at good value. It sits at street level of the Rosselli AX Privilege hotel, with the group's one-star Under Grain restaurant downstairs.
Executive Chef Victor Borg joined Grain in 2019 and oversees the Valletta operations. The menu is built around flavour-packed plates meant to be shared, with Mediterranean cooking at its core. Breakfast, a luncheon express menu and an à la carte selection cover the day, so the kitchen works across several services.
The restaurant occupies a 17th-century palazzo on Merchants Street. There are no set rules for how to eat here, and every wine is served by the glass, which makes it easy to try several bottles over one meal. Guests can also dine al fresco when the weather allows.
