The story
Loxalis, at 150 Rue de la Libération in Dudelange, Luxembourg, serves a Mediterranean menu and earned a Gault&Millau score of 13 in 2026. Angelo Vaccaro founded the restaurant about twelve years ago, and chef Davide Boccolini now leads the kitchen.
Boccolini's dishes are prepared on site, using fresh ingredients that change with the seasons. The kitchen also works with local produce, and the menu is built around careful sourcing rather than elaborate garnish. Guests can order a lunch menu, a chef's signature menu and a children's menu.
Gault&Millau singled out the vitello tonnato 2.0, with pickles for contrast, and a free-range chicken served with crispy potatoes and an olive side. The gluten-free and lactose-free VégétOpera is also recommended. Other dishes on the menu include bouchée à la reine with a veal sweetbread medallion, and a dessert list that runs from tiramisu to semifreddo with lemon and a café gourmand.
The restaurant sits beneath the Casino de Dudelange, in a building that once housed the residence of an ARBED director before the First World War. Large windows make the room feel open, and a shaded terrace is available from spring. The elegant dining room seats up to 80 guests.
