Il Desco Verona: Italian Contemporary Cooking and a 2026 Michelin Star

Il Desco, at via Dietro San Sebastiano, 7 in Verona, is an Italian Contemporary restaurant that holds one Michelin star for 2026. The Rizzo family has run the room in the historic centre for more than 35 years, a short walk from the Arena and Juliet's balcony.

Cooking with few ingredients

The family sets a clear limit: no more than three ingredients in any dish. The kitchen draws on both modern and traditional produce, and the aim is sincerity, with each ingredient given room to taste like itself. Gambero Rosso has awarded the restaurant two forks (2022).

The room and the wine

A young team works both the dining room and the kitchen. The cellar keeps a wine list that the restaurant highlights alongside its menu, and the room offers a bar, private parties and banqueting.
