The story
Casin del Gamba in Valdagno, Italy, sits at via Roccolo Pizzati 1 in Altissimo and serves modern cuisine that earned a Michelin star in 2026 for high quality cooking. The restaurant is run by the Dal Lago family, and the menu changes with the seasons.
Antonio, Daria and Luca Dal Lago run the restaurant together, a family project that began in 1976. Gambero Rosso has awarded it two forks since 2022. The seasonal tasting menu moves from poached Cucca Veneta egg with raw and marinated asparagus to Upper Chiampo salmon trout with its caviar and orange carrots.
The room is set in an old hunting lodge on a hill between Vicenza and Verona, with soft corners and delicate light. Tasting menus are priced at €125 for the table, and sommelier pairings run €50 for four glasses or €25 for four and a half glasses without topping up. The à la carte menu asks for at least three courses and includes wild boar with elderberries and its Venetian-style liver with crispy polenta.
