The story
Il Bavaglino, at via dei Mille 2/b in Terrasini, is a contemporary Sicilian restaurant with one Michelin star (2026) for high quality cooking. It sits between the harbour and the beach, and the kitchen works with produce from the island.
Giuseppe Costa was born in Alcamo in 1982 and trained at the hotel school in Trapani. He then cooked in Trentino, Brussels and on the Amalfi coast, and later in Milan with Carlo Cracco. He returned to Sicily to cook the flavours of his home region.
The main room is an arched space with tufa details and a large fireplace that makes cold days feel warmer. Outside, a terrace faces the sea, with two olive trees and four framed windows looking toward the Faraglioni della Praiola. Lunch and dinner are served, and the kitchen is visible through glass from both rooms.
