The story
Madonnina del Pescatore, at via Lungomare Italia 11 in Marzocca, Senigallia, holds two Michelin stars (2026) for the contemporary cooking of chef Moreno Cedroni. The kitchen leans mostly toward fish.
Cedroni studied as a nautical technician before swapping his sailor's uniform for a waiter's jacket. He later learned seafood cookery at the port of Chioggia and went on to invent Italian sushi. 50 Top Italy placed the restaurant 13th among its Grandi Ristoranti in 2026. Each year he and sous-chef Luca Abbadir write a new themed menu to sit beside the house classics.
This year's theme is the backbone of the fish. The opening course is a crisp cracker with fried anchovy spines and heads, tomato and celery. The oyster dish "Memory of a Trip to Vietnam" returns, now softened with sea buckthorn. Ziti alla Genovese arrives with onion kimchi, and pigeon is paired with grated turbot spine next to a tuna ossobuco in pigeon demi-glace.
The sea and a long beach lie in front, with green hills behind. Fabio Ceccarelli designed the room in a restrained, modern style, flexible and focused on service. Mariella Organi, Cedroni's wife, links the kitchen and the guests. The wine list is flagged as an interesting one.
