The story
Acqua & Sale is a seafood restaurant at Via Monte Grappa 35 in Scafati, Michelin Recommended in 2026. Its Mediterranean kitchen starts with the fish counter and ends at a well-set table.
A few minutes from the Scafati motorway exit, the restaurant has two sides: a pescheria and a trattoria of a more luxurious kind. Giorgio Vitiello runs the stove, trusted with it by his parents Angelo and Anna. The house says it selects its products personally and wants first-choice fish of 100% Italian origin. ilGolosario gave it a Faccino Radioso for 2026 and also noted the cellar.
The Sicilian plate is a tartare of red prawn from Mazara del Vallo with wild fennel and Syracuse lemon. Grilled octopus arrives with black broccoli and a plum fermented in Piedirosso. Potato gnocchi come in an octopus ragù with sweet goat cheese and basil, and amberjack is served with marinated courgettes and their flowers. Risotto alla pescatora and a light tempura of salt cod with Neapolitan papacella chutney complete the list ilGolosario singles out.
The chocolate bowl pairs cream gelato spiked with Borsci San Marzano and a cocoa crumble. Average prices run around 13 for antipasti, 17 for primi, 18 for secondi and 6 for dolci.
