The story
Locanda San Lorenzo is a modern cuisine restaurant at via Gen. Cantore, 2 in Puos d'Alpago, Italy, and it holds a Michelin star (2026) for high quality cooking. The room grew out of a family osteria that opened in 1900, and the menu now moves between local ingredients and newer ideas.
Osvaldo Dal Farra opened the bar on 7 January 1900, and the house later became a restaurant with rooms. Renzo, of the third generation, began developing new dishes with particular attention to meats. Today his son Damiano leads a kitchen of ten chefs, who rework regional produce with modern techniques and pairings. Gambero Rosso awarded the restaurant two forks in 2022.
The wine list holds more than 800 bins, chosen from Italian and international producers, with particular attention to emerging producers from the Belluno province. Dining room staff suggest which bottles suit each dish. Renzo and his wife Mara built the cellar over the years, and their team still shares that work with friends of the house.
An albergo runs alongside the restaurant, so guests can stay after dinner. The house history records the first Michelin star in 1997, a recognition the family has kept while continuing to renew the menu.
