The story
Alle Codole, in Pie' Falcade, is an Italian restaurant at via XX Agosto 27 in Canale d'Agordo, in the Belluno Dolomites. The Michelin Guide lists it as Recommended (2026), a recognition for the family-run kitchen and its cellar.
Chef Oscar Tibolla describes his food as "una cucina sincera", honest cooking. The menus start with seasonal produce and quality raw ingredients, along with local produce from the area. The restaurant has served traditional dishes alongside more inventive plates since it opened in 1973, when the Lorenzi sisters ran the kitchen. His brother Diego is the sommelier, and Livia runs the dining room.
Past special menus show the range of the kitchen. Swordfish carpaccio with prawns, citrus risotto, venison medallions with Pinot Noir and roasted Treviso radicchio, and a homemade panettone have all appeared at New Year. For Valentine's Day, the Italian kitchen has cooked Sicilian red prawns with pineapple, ravioli filled with suckling pig stew, and rabbit stuffed with morels and Bronte pistachio.
