The story
A' Cuncuma is a Sicilian restaurant at Via Judica 21 in Palermo's historic centre, a short walk from the cathedral. The modern Sicilian kitchen has earned a Faccino Radioso rating from ilGolosario for 2026.
Chef Gianfilippo Gatto runs the kitchen after training in other Italian and foreign restaurants, and he came back to Palermo under the guidance of his mentor, chef Vincenzo Pinto. Gatto is a strong supporter of Sicilian products and their versatility in different preparations. Front of house is led by maître sommelier Valentina Crescimanni, who chooses the wine list.
Guide notes single out a lightly smoked cod with confit tomato and Salina caper powder, and a semifreddo finished with passito wine. Contemporary works by the artist Daniele Favaloro hang in the two small dining rooms, alongside embroidered curtains and wicker. The adjoining A'Cuncuma Winery, at number 25, offers wine tastings paired with Sicilian cured meats and cheeses.
