The story
Agorà in Cosenza, at via Rossini 178 in Rende, is a contemporary seafood restaurant that earned the Corona Radiosa distinction from ilGolosario in 2026. The kitchen works with fish from the Ionian Sea, and the dining room has been fully redone with stylish design and better acoustics.
Michele Rizzo, who grew up in the coastal town of Trebisacce, leads the kitchen as both chef and professional sommelier. The fish is bought daily from trusted suppliers at the markets of Corigliano, Amendolara and Trebisacce. The stated aim is to change the fish as little as possible, so each plate keeps its natural character.
The seafood menu includes crispy salt cod with soy, garlic and ginger, and an anchovy carbonara. A stuffed tortellone is filled with potato, pine needles, Ionian scampi and bottarga. Grilled tuna belly comes with cherry tomatoes and Pollino black truffle. A five-course Light Hand menu costs 45 euros, and a nine-course Sea Alchemy menu costs 70 euros. Outdoor seating is available, and the wine cellar can be visited.
