The story
Delicato, in Contigliano, Italy, serves country cooking at via Umberto I 2, and the Michelin Guide listed it as Recommended in 2026. The restaurant opened as the new home of chef Carlotta Delicato, who gives the kitchen its name.
Carlotta Delicato was born in 1994 and trained as a professional chef in leading Italian restaurants. She then worked in the kitchens of JW Marriott hotels in Venice, Costa Rica, Budapest and Barcelona. In Barcelona she was Executive Chef of Ristorante Fire. She won Hell's Kitchen Italia in 2016 and now runs the restaurant that carries her name.
The kitchen uses traditional ingredients prepared with contemporary techniques, with a focus on seasonal produce from small local growers. The restaurant occupies an old palace in a small village between Rieti and Terni. It suits romantic dinners and family lunches on weekends. The We're Smart Green Guide awards it four radishes for 2026.
