The story
Concezione Restaurant serves Sicilian fine dining at via Giuseppe Verdi 143 in Catania, and the Michelin Guide listed it as a recommended address in 2026.
Manuel Tropea was born in 1993 in Picanello, a neighbourhood of Catania, and the restaurant carries his signature. His path runs from the everyday cooking of the city to starred dining rooms. He builds the tasting menu around memory, so each course points back to a past moment, an idea or a feeling. The We're Smart Green Guide also awarded the restaurant 4 Radishes in 2026.
The ten-course menu costs €130 and includes "Sognava di essere una cipollina" and "Pane e minnulata". A seven-course tailored menu at €110 follows the market's early produce and the guest's preferences. Cucumber with white chocolate, finished over embers, appears among the sweeter moments.
Concezione vegetale comes in five, seven or ten courses (€90, €110 or €130). Dishes include savoy cabbage with onions and black chickpeas, and a risotto inspired by the scacciata. On Sundays, U Fucularu Domenicale is a lunch at €60, drinks and cover excluded. It features black pork capocollo with marsala and a stuffed onion cooked under ash.
