The story
Accademia Ristorante, at via Mameli 29 in Casale Monferrato, serves Italian country cooking inside Palazzo Gozzani Treville, and the guide ilGolosario gave it the Corona Radiosa in 2026. The restaurant seats 40 in its gourmet dining area and fills the palazzo's noble halls for larger gatherings.
Luca Filia leads a young brigade that builds the menu around the season and the products it sources. The guide names a trio of young chefs in the kitchen, Luca Filia, Luca Cuvato and Claudia Rabaglino, who work with original textures and pairings. Nicola Mecca, the owner, runs the room and the wine.
The Gragnano spaghettone comes with stracciatella, black garlic and crispy roasted pepper from Basilicata. The veal cheek is served with a Robuchon-style purée and cipolline in aioli. For dessert, the David combines crystallized vanilla bavarois, long pepper foam, blood peach and hazelnut praline.
The palazzo dates to 1730, and its frescoed halls frame the meal. The wine list draws on Monferrato and Italian regions beyond it, with Champagne from small French growers. The restaurant also hosted a Champagne masterclass with Domaine B. Girardin in November 2025, and the aperitif includes Monferrato olive oil.
