The story
Rosa Madre is an Italian seafood restaurant at 7 Crow St in Temple Bar, Dublin, and its wine list earned a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2024.
The kitchen puts fish first. Orders go in with local fishermen overnight, and the catch is delivered daily, fresh rather than frozen. Pasta is made by hand. The lunch menu lists spaghettoni with fresh local clams, paccheri with a slow-cooked Neapolitan sausage ragu, and ravioli filled with ricotta and truffle. Dressed crab on toast with jalapeno and cucumber mayonnaise is one of the starters.
Gambero Rosso awarded the restaurant 2 forks in 2020. Ernie Whalley of the Sunday Times described the place as "as Italian as Ferrari." For dessert, the menu offers tiramisu and a Sicilian cannolo with ricotta cream, chocolate and pistachio.
