The story
Neked Főztem sits at Fő utca 7 in Zánka, near the beach on Lake Balaton, where its gastropub kitchen earned a Michelin Recommended mention in 2026. The restaurant began in 2015 as a small beach-side food stall before moving into this laid-back gastropub.
The kitchen works closely with local farmers, and much of what reaches the plate comes directly from them. Rabbit liver is cut fresh and seared, while duck breast is taken from the pantry and sliced with precision. The menu changes often, with simple dishes plated elegantly.
Outside, retro chairs and tables recall old-school Balaton resorts. Inside, rustic furniture and simply set tables feel like a family Sunday lunch. The wine list focuses on the Balaton region, and nearly every wine is available by the glass. Gault&Millau gave the restaurant a 13 in 2026.
