The story
Natura Hill is at külterület 0157/84 hrsz, Zebegény, in Szob, Hungary, where the kitchen cooks modern Hungarian food. The restaurant earned a Gault&Millau score of 14.5 in 2026, and it also holds a Michelin Recommended distinction for the same year.
Chef Mihály Szilvásy leads a Hungarian kitchen that answers to its setting but stays open to change. There is no printed menu, since each lunch and dinner is a one-off. The centrepiece is a 4+2-course tasting menu built from estate produce and ingredients from the nearby Börzsöny hills.
One spring visit included a lovage-butter beetroot purée, a carp dish with asparagus that took an unconventional approach, and a strawberry dessert cream that looked simple and was carefully executed. The cooking lets fresh, natural ingredients lead. Dinner starts promptly at seven, so plan to arrive on time.
A wine pairing accompanies the menu. Guests who prefer not to drink can order house-made alcohol-free drinks infused with local fruit and herbs. The estate is a former vineyard above the Danube, and dinners often run into sunset over the river.
