The story
Scarpati is a fine dining Italian restaurant in Wuppertal, Germany, at Scheffelstraße 41, where the Schlemmer Atlas awarded 2,5 Kochlöffel in 2026.
In 2024 Anke Scarpati handed the restaurant to Tristan Raff and Aleksander Jevdevic, both longtime cooks in the house. The menu uses regional and seasonal produce, so it changes with asparagus in spring and truffle in autumn. Dinner is often an amuse-bouche sequence of up to seven courses.
In 1982 restaurateur Aniello Scarpati bought the house, and later renovations joined the old building with the new. The large dining room has its own character, while the smaller "kleines Restaurant" offers a more intimate setting with the same menu. In warmer months the covered terrace overlooks the garden and can be heated, and the wines come mainly from Italian estates.
