The story
Burbaums Restaurant in Waltrop serves a set lunch menu from Kirchplatz 4, 45731 Waltrop, in a half-timbered house beside the church. The Schlemmer Atlas gave the restaurant 1,5 Kochlöffel in 2026.
The building is centuries old and stands directly next to the church on the old Kirchplatz. The Dorftenne, a former village threshing floor, is furnished in a country-house style and seats up to 200 guests, with room for 400 standing. A separate beer garden is reserved for private parties, and the Festsaal holds up to 50 people.
The Burbaum family has run the house since 1950. Today the restaurant sits alongside a hotel and a banquet hall. The hotel offers newly designed, renovated double rooms.
