The story
Feilmeiers Landleben serves country cooking at Schwarzhöring 14 in Windorf, about 10 km from Vilshofen, and holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2026. The family-run restaurant has been open since April 2011.
Hans Feilmeier is owner and head chef, a Küchenmeister who worked at Landhaus Henze, a starred kitchen in Probstried, before running kitchens in Vilshofen and Osterhofen. His wife Katrin works the floor and designs the room and its seasonal decoration. The menu follows the seasons and changes roughly every three to four weeks.
The six-course Feinschmecker menu (105 €) has included veal steak cooked sous-vide in a parmesan-truffle sauce, and homemade asparagus ravioli. Black Angus fillet and braised cheek come with basil potato gnocchi. A three-course Landleben menu costs 47 €. Pasta is rolled in-house, and the wine list runs to about 160 bottles.
The Schlemmer Atlas gave the restaurant 2,5 Kochlöffel in 2026, describing a cozy-elegant room with a tiled stove. The guide also mentions gourmet delicacies to go and a cooking school. The kitchen makes its own jams, pralines and Griebenschmalz (seasoned lard). Private dining and catering are available, and the Schwarzkobel Privatlodge in the village offers overnight stays.
