The story
Zum Goldenen Pflug is the Bavarian restaurant at Gut Ising, located at Kirchberg 3, Chieming, and recognized as Michelin Recommended in 2026. The dining room serves regional Bavarian cooking in a traditional setting on the grounds of a former estate beside Lake Chiemsee.
The menu centers on Bavarian specialties, and the Schlemmer Atlas (2026) gave the Gut Ising inn 2.5 Kochlöffel for its Bavarian and Chiemgau dishes. Guests come for the regional classics served in an old manor atmosphere. The kitchen is one of several at the property, so you can choose a different style on the same evening.
The lakeside terrace has rattan furniture and looks out over Lake Chiemsee toward the Bavarian Alps. The Schlemmer Atlas (2026) awarded the terrace 1.5 Kochlöffel and called it one of the most beautiful sunset spots in the Chiemgau. Seating outdoors is a good choice when the weather allows.
Gut Ising covers 170 hectares near Chieming and is made up of eight historic manor houses. Four restaurants and one bar operate on the property, which gives the Bavarian restaurant a quieter, rural setting away from busy town streets.
