The story

Wappen-Saal in Teterow: Classic Cuisine at Burg Schlitz

Wappen-Saal is the gourmet restaurant of Schlosshotel Burg Schlitz, at Burg Schlitz 2 in Hohen Demzin (Teterow). Its classic cuisine earned a Recommended listing in the 2026 Michelin Guide. Dinner is served in a neo-Gothic banquet hall inside a restored count's country estate.

Maik Albrecht's kitchen

Maik Albrecht cooked alongside Harald Wohlfahrt, then traveled the world for SeaCloud Cruises. At Burg Schlitz he has returned to grande cuisine, with luxury ingredients at the center. Think Danish royal red shrimp with sugar snap peas and tomato-saffron broth, or imperial pigeon with Tropea onions and raspberry vinegar. Game comes from the estate's own hunting grounds. Der Feinschmecker gave the restaurant a 3 in 2026. The menu runs four to six courses, and changes cost €19 per course.

The banquet hall

The room has a touch of fairy-tale castle about it. Candlesticks stand on elegantly set tables, and the snow-white vaulted ceiling looks as if it has been frosted with icing. Dogs must stay outside.

Wine

Fine Bordeaux sits beside selections from the Mosel, Nahe and Franconia. Sommelier Franziska Pauli also looks for new discoveries from Italy, Romania and the Spanish islands.
