The story
Gut Lärchenhof is a modern French restaurant at Hahnenstraße in Sinnersdorf, Pulheim, holding one Michelin star for 2026. The fine dining room sits inside the golf club clubhouse, and a bistro under the same roof serves a lighter daily menu.
Torben Schuster leads the kitchen. His French foundation carries Japanese and Dutch influences from his years as sous chef with Yoshizumi Nagaya in Düsseldorf and at Jonnie Boer's De Librije near Zwolle. Der Feinschmecker rates the restaurant four points in 2026 and describes the cooking as bold in composition and precise in execution.
The seven-course tasting menu changes monthly. Among the dishes praised in the 2026 guide are a sole with N25 caviar, where nut butter and fresh pea balance a salty depth. Veal sweetbread follows under a goose liver foam, with celeriac, spinach and potato adding structure. A pigeon with black truffle, paprika and smoked almond carries a dense, satisfying intensity.
The brick clubhouse was renovated and now has a Hampton-style look, with round tables in the gourmet area. In summer the terrace opens onto the golf course greens. Peter Hesseler has run the house since 1999, and the same service team works both the bistro and the gourmet room. The wine list holds more than 1,000 bottles, mostly from Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
