The story
Restaurant Donaublick in Sigmaringen, at Bahnhofstr. 21 in Scheer, serves Swabian cooking in a 19th-century railway station building. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded it 1.5 Kochlöffel in 2026.
The Schedel family runs the kitchen with a menu built on traditional dishes. The Schlemmer Atlas singles out pancake soup and braised ox cheeks, two plates that show the restaurant's weight toward slow, warming cooking. The restaurant is also listed under vegan and vegetarian, so meat-free guests have a place to eat here.
The restaurant traces its roots to a station restaurant founded in 1871, and the family has run it for four generations. In the evening, guests dine in the Bacchusstube, where landlady Margret serves traditional Swabian dishes. The Weinstube Bacchus, opened in 1994 in a former freight shed, adds a second room for wine and simple fare.
