The story
Johanniterstube serves French cuisine in Rottweil at Johannsergasse 12, inside the Johanniterbad hotel. The Schlemmer Atlas gave it 2.5 Kochlöffel in 2026, and the restaurant's own site also points to mentions in the Michelin Guide and the VARTA guide.
Tobias Maier leads the kitchen, and the restaurant describes his cooking as innovative and rooted in traditional craft. The Schlemmer Atlas entry names two signature choices: Black Forest bouillabaisse and venison loin in a nut crust. Guests can pair the food with wines from regional growers or with selected foreign bottles.
The Johanniterstube is simple and modern inside. In summer, the Johannitergarten takes over, and on fine days dinner sits in the elevated garden with a view of the treetops. The kitchen also sells a take-home Maiers HochgenussBox for those who want to bring the flavours home.
