The story
Pino at Weinbergstraße 7 in Potsdam is a modern Italian restaurant recognized by Der Feinschmecker in 2026, which called it the city's long-standing best Italian. The kitchen works from seasonal produce and a daily board rather than a fixed menu.
Ardonit Meta, the eldest son of the owning family, has taken over the kitchen. He cooked previously at Fischers Fritz at The Regent and reworks classics with a touch of the Western Balkans. His roasted aubergine, filled with walnut and fig, comes with spring onion and a truffle Marsala sauce. Scallop arrives with a silky beetroot and chickpea mousse, sweet potato and saffron basil sauce.
White-laid tables, parquet floors and brick walls set the scene, and the front garden terrace looks out onto classicist facades. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded the restaurant 2.5 Kochlöffel in 2026 for its fine-dining approach in an exposed-brick setting. Service is personal, with the whole family pitching in, and many regulars return. The wine list leans Italian, with Barolo from Aldo Conterno and a Super Tuscan among the bottles.
