The story
Felsenbirne sits at Lange Straße 34 in Pirna, where a modern cuisine kitchen earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026 for good quality, good value cooking. The restaurant has operated since 2019 and serves à la carte dishes alongside seasonal menus.
Felix Mikulla is both chef and host, leading a small team in the Pirna old town. The kitchen works with market-fresh, regional produce. Classic, vegetarian, vegan and low-carb orders are all part of the same repertoire, and gluten-free and lactose-free adaptations are possible.
The current menu includes a caramelized foie gras terrine with homemade brioche and cranberry-pear chutney, and pan-fried monkfish with pumpkin seed risotto and shellfish sauce. Lamb appears as ragout and as sous vide rump with roasted Brussels sprouts. Dessert is a pecan brownie with cranberry sorbet, chocolate parfait and pomelo. Three to five courses cost 66 to 98 euros, and individual dishes can also be ordered à la carte.
The dining room is cozy, with a 360° gallery on the website for a preview before a visit. There is seating in the courtyard, and dogs are welcome. Private cooking classes are offered, and the Schlemmer Atlas describes the atmosphere as both chic and casual.
