The story
Bruckert’s Restaurant & Bar, at Cuxhavener Straße 32 a-34 in Otterndorf, serves North German cooking near the Elbe estuary. The Schlemmer Atlas gave it 1,5 Kochlöffel in 2026.
The Bruckert family has been tied to the building for three generations. Senior Rainer Bruckert worked in the old Gasthaus decades ago. Lunch changes weekly and follows a grandmother's-style approach, with vegetarian options. Hearty fish and meat dishes anchor the evening menu.
From November to March, the kitchen serves all-you-can-eat Grünkohl for 27,50 € per person, with Kasselerbraten, Kohl- und Pinkelwurst, pork cheek and potatoes. Caraway comes free, and reservations are required. In the beer garden, the Gastrofass seats four to fourteen guests, with its own lighting, music and winter heating.
