The story
Imperial by Alexander Herrmann is a Franconian fusion restaurant at Königstraße 70 in Nürnberg, and Der Feinschmecker awarded it 3 in 2026. Alexander Herrmann and Michi Seitz pair regional ingredients with flavours from further afield, served at strictly arranged, minimalist tables.
Schlemmer Atlas gave the kitchen three Kochlöffel for 2026, praising craftsmanship that bridges local roots and cosmopolitan sophistication. Three menus run from two to eleven courses, and the guide calls the place a destination for vibrant culinary escapes.
The Tradition Mood reworks eleven Nuremberg classics. Sauerbraten arrives as wagyu tataki, and bratwurst becomes dim sum with marjoram sausage meat and bread broth. The Celebration Mood is built for sharing, with trout sashimi and tempura carp, while the Glamour menu brings Black Angus, lobster and caviar on one large platter.
The rooms are high-ceilinged, with stucco, columns and an open kitchen, and the house describes every table as a chef's table. The cellar is compact, with standout labels and many wines by the glass. Guests who stay on can order signature drinks at the bar or head up to the rooftop terrace.
