The story
Meyers Keller at Marienhöhe 8 in Nördlingen is a Bavarian Wirtshaus run by chef Jockl Kaiser, and it holds one Michelin Star in the 2026 guide. The inn calls itself a place for the joy of living, with the cooking to match.
Kaiser describes the house as a Wirtshaus out of conviction, with rough edges included. The kitchen knows its producers and shares their view of quality. Bavarian and country cooking sit at the center, with French influence in the mix. Michelin sums up the result as high quality cooking.
The Schlemmer Atlas gave Meyers Keller 3.5 Kochlöffel in 2026. It points to the tree-shaded beer garden, traditional pub dishes and gourmet menus. The Chef's Table is singled out as a good setting for celebrations. In summer the garden hosts wine festivals, where winemakers pour at stands and the kitchen cooks dishes to match. The old trees look out over the Nördlinger Ries.
Once a month the Malzboden becomes the stage for the Kaiser-Brunch, a Sunday event built on a zero-waste idea. Many dishes are finished à la minute in the open event kitchen. A monthly Thursday Küchenparty follows a similar spirit, with dishes prepared in front of guests. The Lädle in the Wirtshaus sells fine foods, wines and kitchen accessories, and on Saturdays it stocks fresh goods such as raw-milk cheese, fish and mushrooms.
