The story
Gasthof Hasen in Herrenberg runs a German kitchen with Swabian roots at Hasenplatz 6, 71083. The family-run house earned 2 Kochlöffel in the Schlemmer Atlas 2026, recognising a traditional guesthouse dating back to 1620 with its restaurant at the centre.
Gerhard Nölly, the house's Küchenmeister, cooks seasonal dishes for the restaurant and the hotel's dining packages. The Schlemmer Atlas names salmon trout and beef tenderloin among the dishes on offer. Lunch brings a Swabian daily classic, the Schwäbischer Tagesklassiker, alongside a Sunday menu.
A sommelier leads the wine cellar, which leans toward predominantly biodynamic bottles. The family's own vineyard, Hasen Weinberg, lies in the Ammertal, a region the house describes as the smallest wine area in Württemberg. Guests can take a drink in the Lounge-Bar or on the garden terrace.
