The story
Mangostin Asia Restaurant, at Maria-Einsiedel-Str. 2 in Munich, is a Thai and Japanese kitchen that received 2.5 Kochlöffel from the Schlemmer Atlas in 2026.
The house describes its cooking as Thailand meeting Japan meeting Munich. Fish and crustaceans are the focus, and the kitchen stresses freshness and quality. The sushi gets the same attention, and Thai dishes share the menu with it.
The restaurant is a colorful, artistically designed space near the Isar River and the zoo. A long table in the Mangostin Garden can be set for celebrations, and the Keiko room hosts receptions. On Sundays there is a brunch, and sukiyaki, the Japanese stew, is served for two or more guests with 24 hours' notice.
