The story
Freisinger Hof, at Oberföhringer Straße 189 in Munich, is an Austrian and Bavarian restaurant that earned 2 Kochlöffel in the Schlemmer Atlas for 2026. The house belongs to a hotel whose history reaches back to 1875, set close to the Englischen Garten on the high bank of the Isar.
The kitchen pairs classic bourgeois cooking with more modern dishes. The lunch menu changes daily with fresh, seasonal specials. In the evening, the classics take the lead: Tafelspitz in several variations with its traditional side dishes, Wiener Schnitzel, spring Skrei fillet with wild garlic risotto, and autumn duck with blue cabbage.
In warmer months, guests eat in the original Munich beer garden. The restaurant also has a terrace and a winter garden, where traditional dishes meet a modern hand. Outdoor seating is available. The Michelin Guide lists the restaurant as Recommended for 2026.
