The story
Hebelstube, the restaurant of the Landhotel Alte Post at Posthalterweg in Müllheim, cooks a world cuisine with deep regional roots and appears in the Michelin Guide as Recommended for 2026. It sits in a former post station from the 18th century, run today by a family business.
The kitchen describes its style as young, creative nature-driven cooking, built on regional and seasonal produce, organic where possible. Dishes are reduced and follow the natural flavor of the ingredients. The house adds a twist to each plate. Vegetarian options are offered daily, and vegan versions on request.
The Schlemmer Atlas awarded 2.5 Kochlöffel in 2026 and describes parquet flooring, wood paneling and white tablecloths. Its examples of the menu range from radish carpaccio to grilled eel. A garden restaurant with outdoor seating adds a second setting, surrounded by flowering plants and old trees.
The wine list leans on the Markgräflerland, especially Gutedel, with a selection of European bottles beside it. A Vinothek offers tastings and advice. Falstaff gave the restaurant 84 points, and Gault&Millau two toques.
