The story
Mizu, at Anneliese-Pohl-Allee 2 in Marburg an der Lahn, is an Asian restaurant set directly on the Lahn. Der Feinschmecker awarded it 2.5 points in 2026, and the Schlemmer Atlas gave it 2 Kochlöffel the same year. The kitchen moves between Japanese and Korean styles under one roof, built around sharing.
Chef Kang Dai Song leads the kitchen, which pairs sashimi, nigiri and gyoza with house creations. Dishes mentioned in the guides include salmon tartare with mango and smoked watermelon, wagyu in potato dough, and Korean beef short ribs from the robata grill. The Schlemmer Atlas also lists edamame, tempura and sushi, plus three wagyu preparations from the grill.
The omakase menu is designed for two, and the dishes are meant to be shared alongside the à la carte selection. The restaurant occupies a pavilion building with floor-to-ceiling glass across two floors. Dark tones and an Asian-inspired interior set the mood. The wine list leans European, with selected sake.
