The story
Hofbräu an der Wilhelmshöhe in Lingen serves Bavarian food at An der Wilhelmshöhe 14, and the Schlemmer Atlas gave it one Kochlöffel in 2026. The beer garden sits among the greenery in the Emsland, and the kitchen runs the traditional Bavarian menu indoors and out.
The menu centers on pork: oven-fresh Haxn with sauerkraut and potato mash, a Schweinsbraten with house-made Serviettenknödel, and a Haxnpfanne with braised onions and mushrooms. Weißwurst comes with butter pretzel and sweet mustard, and Obatzda arrives with onion rings and a Brotzeit board. The menu also lists Wiener Schnitzel and a Pasta Aglio e Olio, so the kitchen reaches past the Bavarian classics.
The house pours Hofbräu München beer, including a seasonal Oktoberfest beer. The building was recently renovated in a modern style, with a large dining room, a club room, a banquet hall and a terrace. Guests can book the larger rooms for celebrations or meetings. The kitchen is open to view, and the restaurant lists wheelchair access.
