The story
Das Erck is a family-run restaurant at Heidelbergerstr. 22 in Kronau, Germany, serving Badische cooking with fusion touches. The Schlemmer Atlas 2026 awarded it 2,5 Kochlöffel.
Much of the kitchen runs on local suppliers. Game comes from the house's own hunt, Limousin beef from the Kästelhof, and vegetables from growers in the region. Bread and sausage come from small bakeries and the local butcher.
The team also makes its own preserves, chutneys and cakes. The beef jus is called the house's "schwarzes Gold".
Walter Erck and his wife Brigitta founded the business in 1976. Today their son Alexander runs it with his parents, Gudrun and Thomas Erck. Pasta is made in house from Kraichgaukorn flour, and herbs come from the garden. The wine list leans toward Baden and the Palatinate.
