The story
Essbar, at Bahnhofstr. 15 in Konstanz, serves Asian and world cuisine and received 2 Kochlöffel from the Schlemmer Atlas in 2026.
The kitchen works from German and French foundations and adds plenty of Asian influence. Korean beef tartare and steak tataki show the direction. A set lunch menu is also available.
In the evening, the format is relaxed: a sharing dinner of seven or nine different dishes, plus tapas, sushi plates and Asian dishes. The Schlemmer Atlas describes it as an informal city restaurant behind a representative façade. Inside, you find leather benches and teardrop-shaped designer lamps.
