The story
Schwanen sits at Schwanenstr. 1 in Köngen, a short drive from Stuttgart, and serves a Swabian kitchen with a modern touch. The Schlemmer Atlas gave it 2.5 Kochlöffel in 2026, and the restaurant is also listed as Michelin Recommended for the same year.
Head chef Patrick Domon and his team build the menu on regional produce, with a looser international streak in some dishes. The Schlemmer Atlas singles out refined Swabian plates such as Kalbsbäckle (braised veal cheek), Wildragout and Zwiebelrostbraten. Vegetarian and vegan alternatives are part of the regular offer, and children's dishes are too.
The dining room is split into several Separées and Stuben with upholstered banked seating, plus outdoor seating when the weather allows. The Karl-Benz Stube serves regional classics, and the restaurant runs themed weeks, including a Thai menu scheduled for 17 to 28 March 2026. The house has been run by the same family for three generations.
