The story
Zur Tant holds one Michelin star (2026) and serves French and Mediterranean cooking at Rheinbergstraße 49 in Cologne. The timber-framed house sits directly on the Rhine in Porz, one of the southernmost suburbs of the city, and its kitchen works with regional produce.
Chef Thomas Lösche cooks with clarity and focus. Der Feinschmecker describes a menu of four to six courses, each also available à la carte. Oberberg salmon trout in tomato broth with fermented vegetables stands out for its fresh acidity. Sea bass with langoustine raviolo carries subtle marine notes, and Eifel veal comes with sweetbread. The meal closes with plum dumpling and plum butter ice cream.
The dining room is plain, in white and grey, and every table looks out over the river. The wine list runs to around 100 bottles, mostly German and Austrian, with some from smaller estates. Sommelier Mario Fitz leads the service with Austrian charm and wit. Schlemmer Atlas awarded the house three Kochlöffel for 2026.
